Surfboard Boardbags

Shop surfboard boardbags for shortboards, fish, funboards, mid-lengths, longboards, travel quivers and light stretch covers. Start with board length and shape, then choose the padding level for how the board will be carried, stored or travelled.

For day-to-day surf around Melbourne and Victoria, a padded day cover protects against car-park knocks, roof-rack marks and sun. For flights, longer drives or carrying more than one board, step up to a travel or multi-board bag with thicker foam, reinforced panels and divider protection.

What size boardbag do I need?

Choose a bag that is at least as long as your board and shaped for the board outline. A shortboard bag can be too narrow for a fish or funboard even if the length looks close.

Day cover or travel boardbag?

Use a day cover for car trips, home storage and regular beach runs. Choose a travel boardbag when the board will be packed with luggage, checked onto flights or carried with other boards.

Can I put a fish in a shortboard bag?

Sometimes, but only if the bag has enough width through the nose and middle. Fish and funboard bags are safer for wider boards and swallow tails.

Do I need a multi-board bag?

Choose a multi-board bag when travelling with a backup board or quiver. Dividers, thicker foam and reinforced nose and tail panels reduce board-on-board pressure.

Are surfboard socks enough protection?

Socks help with sun, wax marks and light storage scratches. They do not protect like a padded boardbag against knocks, roof-rack pressure or airline handling.
