Can I surf with a ding?

If the ding is open to foam or letting water in, stop and seal it before surfing again. Water inside a board can add weight and make the repair harder.

What repair gear should I start with?

For small chips, use the correct UV resin for your board. For cracks or holes, add fibreglass cloth or a repair kit. For an emergency seal, use ding tape or an instant patch.

How do I know if my board is epoxy or polyester?

Check the board label, construction notes or brand specs. If it says EPS, epoxy or epoxy construction, use epoxy-safe repair products.

Do deck dents need repair?

Normal pressure dents usually do not need repair unless cracked. Repair any open crack, exposed foam or area taking on water.

When should I book professional repairs?

Use professional repairs for large cracks, creases, fin box damage, rail rebuilds, delamination or anything that needs a colour-matched finish.

For structural dings, bring the board in before starting a DIY repair. A clean early repair is usually easier than fixing a sealed-in wet ding.
