Bodyboard Flippers

Shop bodyboard flippers and swim fins for bodyboarding, bodysurfing and swim-fin assisted surf sessions. The right flipper helps with acceleration, positioning and control, but only if the foot pocket fits securely without rubbing or cramping.

Compare fit first, then stiffness, blade shape, drainage and whether you need fin socks or tethers. Bodyboarders should also check comfort with booties or fin socks if they get rub, cold feet or pressure points.

Buying help

What size flippers should I buy?

Start with the brand size guide and your real foot size. The fin should stay secure in the water without crushing your toes or sliding off your heel.

Do I need fin tethers?

Tethers are useful for bodyboarding and bodysurfing where losing a flipper can end the session or leave you swimming in from a poor position.

Should flippers be stiff or soft?

Stiffer fins add power and speed, while softer fins can be more comfortable and easier on the legs. Choose based on strength, use and comfort.

Can I wear socks or booties with flippers?

Yes, but check sizing. Fin socks or thin booties can reduce rub and add warmth, but they also take up room in the foot pocket.

If you are between sizes, ask the Thornbury shop before ordering because flipper comfort is hard to fix once the foot pocket is wrong.
