Is glassing different from ding repair?

Ding repair usually focuses on small damage. Glassing covers broader lamination work, larger repairs, board building and jobs where resin, cloth and tools need to work together.

Do I need epoxy or polyester resin?

Use epoxy-safe resin for epoxy/EPS boards. Polyester resin is generally for PU/polyester boards and should not be used on EPS foam.

What tools do I need for glassing?

Most jobs need compatible resin, cloth, mixing gear, squeegees or applicators, protective film or tape, sanding gear and a clean workspace.

When should I avoid DIY glassing?

Avoid DIY glassing for structural creases, major delamination, fin-box rebuilds or jobs where strength and finish matter more than a quick fix.

For larger glassing repairs, ask the shop before cutting cloth or mixing resin. The right sequence saves a lot of sanding and rework.
