Surfboard Repair Kits

Shop surfboard repair kits for epoxy and polyester boards, including UV cure resin, fibreglass cloth, ding tape, slap patches, epoxy putty, sandpaper and repair refills. Match the repair product to your board construction before applying anything: epoxy/EPS boards need epoxy-safe products, while PU boards usually use polyester resin.

For small chips, cracks and travel repairs, quick-cure resin or a patch kit can seal water out fast. Bigger cracks, creases, fin box damage or soft delamination usually need more prep, cloth, sanding or a professional repair.

Epoxy or polyester repair kit?

Use epoxy-safe resin on epoxy/EPS boards. Polyester resin is generally for PU/polyester boards and can damage EPS foam. If you are not sure, check the board label or ask the shop before applying resin.

Can I use ding tape as a permanent repair?

Ding tape and quick patches are useful for sealing water out and getting through a session or trip. For a cleaner long-term repair, sand, fill, glass and finish the damaged area properly.

Do I need fibreglass cloth?

Use fibreglass cloth when the ding has a hole, crack or area that needs strength. Resin alone can fill small chips, but cloth gives the repair structure.

Can I repair a wet surfboard?

Avoid sealing moisture inside a board. Rinse salt away if needed, dry the area properly, then sand and repair. If water has soaked in, give it more drying time.

When should I use professional surfboard repairs?

Use a professional repair for creases, snapped noses, fin box damage, delamination, large soft spots or any repair where the board needs structural strength and a clean finish.

Not sure what resin or patch to use? Bring the board into the Thornbury shop or send clear photos of the ding, board construction label and damaged area.
