What shaping tools do I need first?

Start with layout tools, calipers, a surform or rasp, sanding blocks and suitable abrasives. The exact set depends on whether you are shaping a blank or doing smaller modifications.

What grit should I use?

Coarser grits remove foam faster. Finer grits are for finishing and smoothing. Move gradually rather than jumping straight to a very fine finish.

Can I use repair tools for shaping?

Some tools overlap, but shaping a board needs more controlled measuring and foam-removal tools than a small ding repair.

Do you sell full shaping kits?

Some kit pages may be refreshed or empty. If no kit is available, build a kit from current shaping tools, abrasives and sanding pads.
