3/2 or 4/3?

A 3/2 is easier to paddle in and suits milder water. A 4/3 adds warmth for Victorian winter, dawn surfs and windy days.

Steamer or springsuit?

Steamers cover the full body and are the main cool-water option. Springsuits suit warm weather, shorter sessions and surfers who run hot.

How should it fit?

A wetsuit should feel firm when dry without loose folds, gaping at the neck or pulling across the shoulders so much that paddling feels restricted.

Chest zip or back zip?

Chest zips can feel more sealed once on. Back zips are usually easier to get in and out of, especially for newer surfers.

When do I add boots or gloves?

Boots are usually the first winter add-on in Victoria. Add gloves or a hood for colder, windier or longer sessions.
