The Surfboard Studio MEKP Catalyst Hardener

Polyester resin must be catalysed with MEKP before use for chemical reaction to start turning the resin from a liquid to a solid, un-catalysed resin simply will not harden. Catalysts are corrosive and must be handled with special care. The proper dispensers are strongly recommended for safe and accurate use.

M.E.K.P. (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) is a colourless, organic peroxide used to catalyse Polyester Resins and Gelcoats. M.E.K.P. is mixed with polyester based resins or gelcoats to create a chemical reaction causing heat to build up and cure or harden the resin.
