A run of new shapes have just landed on our racks from Doug Rogers, somewhere between a mid length and a shortboard step up / gun - these look like absolute weapons.  If you have been looking for something longer with more foam, that's not just a cruisey carver then this might just be the model for you. 

Generous thickness through the center with a significant roll down to the rail means that you'll get generous paddle power with sensitivity and bite on rail.  These will have you in and up earlier than anyone else in the lineup - while still allowing a full repertoire of maneuvers on the wave face.
